SHARRON GRIFFITHS - HARPIST

ABOUT ME

Sharron started playing the harp at the age of ten in her native Wales, she then went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music and as a postgraduate at Trinity College of Music. Following her studies, Sharron has pursued a successful and varied career, having recently moved from London to Glasgow.

Sharron has played with many leading UK Orchestras, including the BBC Symphony, Scottish Symphony and Concert Orchestra’s, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Opera, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Northern Sinfonia, RTE National Orchestra of Ireland, and also with The Royal Ballet Sinfonia, Northern Ballet, Moscow City Ballet and for West End & Touring Musicals. During her career, she has played with many famous names such as Pavarotti, Sir Simon Rattle, Katherine Jenkins, Lesley Garrett and Evelyn Glennie at prestigious concert halls including The Royal Albert Hall & Royal Festival Hall and toured extensively across the World, as far a field as Japan & Los Angeles.

As a function harpist, Sharron has held residencies at The Landmark Hotel, The Trafalgar Hilton and The London Wetlands Centre. She has also played regularly at the Hilton Park Lane, Langham Hilton, Waldorf Hotel, Sheraton Park Tower Hotel, Carlton Tower Hotel and Harrods and for events throughout the South-East including The Victoria and Albert Museum, Madam Tussauds, The Tower of London, Hampton Court, Earls Court, Warwick Castle and at the top of the BT Tower.

Sharron is a busy harp teacher with many private students and has held the post of harp teacher at many Schools and Colleges including The Godolphin School, Salisbury, Haileybury College, The Latymer Saturday Music Centre and The Milton Keynes Music Service.
