Early years & training
’Sharron started playing the harp at the age of ten in her native Wales, she studied harp performance at the Royal Northern College of Music and as a Postgraduate at Trinity College of Music. During her studies, she performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales, Britten Pears Orchestra, British Youth Opera and the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, Sharron has pursued a successful and varied career for many years in London and currently in Glasgow.
Orchestral harpist
Sharron is currently the Guest Principal Harp at Scottish Opera and works regularly with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. Sharron has also freelanced with several International orchestra’s, including the Royal Northern Sinfonia, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Arctic Philharmonic Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, Halle Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Royal Ballet Sinfonia, Scottish Ballet and the Norwegian Ballet & Opera.
She has also held harp positions on West End and Touring Musicals along with playing for many pop and film sessions, including sessions at the famous Abbey Road studio's, and with many famous artists such as Pavarotti, Belle & Sebastian, Max Richter, Idina Menzel, Katherine Jenkins, Alfie Boe and Russel Watson

Soloist
Sharron is in great demand as a soloist, she performed Debussy's harp concerto 'Danses sacree et profane' and Ravel’s ‘Introduction and Allegro’ with the Hebrides Ensemble and the Royal Northern Sinfonia , Britten's 'A ceremony of carols' and Brahms 'Four songs for voice, two horns and harp' and the chamber versions of Bernstein’s ‘Chichester Psalms’ at the Edinburgh International Festival and Lammermiur Festival with the National Youth Girls Choir of Scotland and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra Chorus, Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor harp cadenza for CD recording with Elena Xanthoudakis and the Royal Northern Sinfonia.

Chamber musician
Sharron is a keen chamber musician, she is a member of many different ensembles including Bardic Trio with Jamie MacDougall- Tenor and Matthew McAllister - Guitar, (Their debut album is available on Baros Record Label ) Clyde Duo with Aisling Agew - Flute and FluteViolaHarp trio with Ruth Morley - Flute and Scott Dickinson - Viola.
Sharron has collaborated with many other musicians and established ensembles including Scottish Ensemble, Hebrides Ensemble, Scottish Voices, New Focus, Paragon Ensemble, Glasgow String Quartet, St Andrews New Music Ensemble and the Red Note Ensemble. Performances have included major works and premieres of works by Sally Beamish, Eddie McGuire, Craig Armstrong, Alasdair Nicolson, Francis MacDonald, Gareth Williams, Stuart MacRae, Graham Hair and Martin Suckling at the Lammermuir Festival, Edinburgh Festival, St Magnus Festival, North Yorkshire Moors Festival, Cotters Chamber Project, Celtic Connections, Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival, Manchester Midday series, Sound Festival and the Glasgow University Lunchtime Concert Series to name a few.

Harp tuition
Sharron is an experienced pedal and lever harp teacher, is currently harp teacher at Junior Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, St Andrews University, Glasgow University, Hutcheson's Grammar School and the Music School at Douglas Academy, regular tutor of the harps on the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, West Scotland School Symphony Orchestra and the Scottish Opera Connect Orchestra. Sharron was a Lecturer in pedal harp at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for 10 years where she also held techniques of teaching, technique and performance workshops and classes. She was the co-creator of Scotland's first pedal harp summer school at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Sharron has many private students, teaching all ages and levels of music literacy from beginners to advanced and boasts a 100% Pass rate with the Associated Board & Trinity Guildhall examination boards.

Music in the community
Sharron is currently working on a new project with Scottish Opera’s Education Department, the Giants Harp to be delivered in schools across Glasgow in the Autumn 2024.
Sharron has toured for many years with Scottish Opera's Education Project "a little bit of..." a 20 minute version of various famous opera's featuring harpist, cellist, storyteller, singer and illustration theatre, bringing opera to people from all walks of life at all kinds of diverse venues across Scotland including museums, hospitals, coffee shops, warehouses, book festivals, farms, shopping centre's, car parks, Scottish Parliment, Scottish Prisons, Ullapool Book Festival, T in the Park and the Belladrum Tartan Heart festival.
