Echo Chamber Ensemble was formed in 2012 by three of Scotland’s leading musicians. Their acclaimed debut concert was the 2012 McEwan commission concert at Glasgow University. The 2012 commission was by remarkable young Scottish composer Martin Suckling. They have since performed at the Sound festival and at music clubs around Scotland. In 2019 the line up and name has now changed due to the original Violist, Hannah Craib's relocation to live in Germany, Ruth and Sharron are excited to now be joined by the renowned Violist, Scott Dickinson and we are now known as the Flute Viola Harp Scotland Trio.
This combination of instruments has some of the most enchanting repertoire from the early twentieth century, with the Debussy Sonata being one of the jewels in the crown. The trio also lends itself beautifully to arrangements of earlier work. The range of sounds and colours that can be created from this combination of instruments are remarkable, and this ensemble brings together some of Scotland’s most experienced chamber musicians.
